On July 6, one of the largest Indian steelmakers JSW Steel Ltd posted a nine percent year-on-year growth in crude steel production in the first quarter (ending June 30) of the current Indian financial year. JSW produced 1.71 million mt of crude steel in the given quarter, including 30,000 mt of trial-run output from its expansion project.
During the first quarter, the company produced 1.19 million mt of flat rolled products, up nine percent, while it produced 350,000 mt of long rolled products, up 12 percent, both compared to the first quarter of the previous financial year.
