JOHANNESBURG, July 6 (Reuters) - Johannesburg-listed shares of Coal of Africa (CZAJ.J: Quote) surged nearly 16 percent in early trade on Wednesday after the miner said it received environmental consent for its controversial Vele Colliery.
The company (CZA.AX: Quote) halted some work at South Africa's Vele colliery in August after the government said it had broken environmental laws. [
Shares of the company were trading at 13.84 percent higher at 9.21 rand as of 0714 GMT after rising 15.95 percent earlier.(sourced Thomson Reuters)
