NDTV reported that ArcelorMittal has redrawn its plans for India.
The company has now scaled down the plant size to 2 million tonne to 3 million tonne from 6 to 12 million tonne.
That will make raw material procurement and land buying more manageable.
The company is also strengthening distribution network in India prior to steel mill installation. ArcelorMittal is consolidating customer base in India by importing and selling over 1.5 million tonnes of various grades of steel.
ArcelorMittal has been trying to break ground for the proposed steel mills in India for the last four years but has been beset with delays ranging from government clearances to land acquisition. (sourced from NDTV)
