According to Money.ro, Steel mill ArcelorMittal Galati has initiated a fresh scheme of voluntary layoffs that will run until mid March 2011.
Employees, who will voluntarily leave the company, will receive sums between ROL 15,000 and ROL 30,000, plus 6 to 24 salaries in compensation, depending on the time they worked in the company.
Some 9,300 people are currently working in the Galati based steel mill. The company did not announce how many jobs it will slash through this scheme, only saying that it wants to increase its competitiveness.
