Mozambican railways transported the first shipment of coal produced by Vale SA (VALE3) at the Moatize mine to the port of Beira, state-controlled Diario de Mocambique reported, citing Rosario Mualeia, chairman of Caminhos de Ferro de Mocambique, the railroad company.

The shipment of 2,600 metric tons from the province of Tete took about 20 hours and arrived yesterday, the newspaper reported. Exports are expected to begin on Aug. 28, it cited Mualeia as saying.
