According to trade data, iron ore imports into Australia in June reached 38.3 million tonne (wet basis), up 2.0 million tonne on the same month last year. This takes the Q2 of 2011 total to 112.5 million tonne marking a rebound (up 15%) on the previous quarter. However, the Q2 of 2011 export volume still fell short of the record 114.0 million tonne exported in the Q4 of 2010
