Hebei finds coalfield with 3.5 billion tonnest predictive reserves

North China’s Hebei province has discovered a coal deposit with 3.5 billion tonnes predictive reserves within the depth of 2000m, Yanzhao Metropolis reported Jan 30, citing local authorities.
Preliminary exploration showed that the coalfield, located in Guangzong County, Xingtai City, boasts coal reserves up to 800 million tonnes within the depth of 1200-1500m, according to the Xingtai municipal land and resources department.

There are 17 coal-bearing seams in the exploration area, with a total thickness of 17.88m.
The coal types comprise gas coal, fat gas coal and 1/3 coking coal, featuring low to medium ash, low and medium-high sulfur, medium-high and high volatile matter, low phosphorus, and medium and high calorific value, it noted.

Guangzong exploration area is 33km east to Jingguang rail line and 35km west to Jingjiu rail line.
