APBI-ICMA (Asosiasi Pertambangan Batubara Indonesia - Indonesian Coal Mining Assosiation) was officially established by the coal producers in Indonesia on the 20th September, 1989 and was registered as a member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce on the 16th October, 2004.
The legal foundation of the organization is constitutionally based on the Constitution 45, Articles 33 and 20, is structurally based on the Law no. 1/1987, about the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and is operationally based on the agreed acclamation of the whole APBI-ICMA members assembly dated 20th September, 1989.
APBI-ICMA is the organization of companies in the coal business sector and is non political and non profit oriented.
The association focuses on the participation of developing the business climate in the coal mining sector which enables the broadly involvement of all members. The other objective is to share a significant role for the national economic development. Its effort is to become a communication and a consultation forum among its members not only with the Government but also to work together with other associations, companies or any related parties domestically and from overseas for the sake of the Indonesian coal sector's development.
Currently APBI-ICMA has 84 companies registered as its members.
