Coking coal produced by Jizhong Energy Fengfeng Group, based in North China’s Hebei province, reached 9.05 million tonnes in 2010, making it China’s second largest coking coal production base, Hebei Economic Daily reported on Feb 9.
Last year, Fengfeng Group recorded a year-on-year increase of 37 percent or 2.82 million tonnes in clean coal output to 10.43 million tonnes, and realized 14.37 billion yuan on coal sales, growing 68 percent on year, the report said.
The group reached strategic cooperation with Handan Iron & Steel, Wusteel, Anhui Steel, Shougang Qian’an Steel, and Risun Coal Chemical Group, adding 1.9 million tonnes of clean coal demand.
The Fengfeng coalfield is one of the China’s main coking coal production area with abundant coal types.
