MELBOURNE, July 25 (Reuters) - BHP Billiton said on Monday the strike at its Escondida mine in Chile, the world's biggest copper mine, was illegal and it was putting in place a plan to secure its operations.
"The company is implementing an action plan to ensure the safety of its workforce and the integrity of its operations," the company said in a brief statement emailed to Reuters.
The strike entered a third day on Sunday with no sign of a deal on workers' wage demands.
