Coal handlings at Qinhuangdao port, China’s top loading port of the fuel, dropped slightly in the week from May 23 to 29, down by 4.18% from a week earlier, said Qinhuangdao Seaborne Coal Market in a report.
Qinhuangdao handled 5.16 million tonnes coal last week, averaging 737,100 tonnes per day. On May 23, the navigation was closed for six hours.
Coal deliveries to the port via railway fell 2.86% from a week ago to 5.2 million tonnes in the week, namely an average of 747,270 tonnes per day, data showed.
Qinhuangdao had an average of 5.86 million tonnes coal in stock per day last week. As of May 29, coal stockpiles at the port amounted to 5.73 million tonnes.
