Reuters reported that Russian coking coal miner Raspadskaya fourth quarter coking coal concentrate sales volumes rose 33% from the previous quarter to 902,000 tonnes thanks to increased production.
The company main mine was shut after an accident in May 2010, though the company made up for some of the lost volumes by increasing production elsewhere. For the full year, coal concentrate sales fell 31% to 5.35 million tonnes.
It restarted some operations at its main mine last month and expects to return to pre accident monthly production levels by the end of this year, allowing it to resume export sales.
