NTPC call Tender for 4 MLN Ton of Non Coking Coal

NTPC Limited, incorporated in 1975 as a public sector company wholly owned by Government of India, is the largest thermal power generating company of the country, with a installed capacity over 34,194 MW is seeking to procure 4 million MT +/- 2 percent of Non-Coking imported Coal with Gross Calorific Value (ADB) 6300 Kcal/Kg, on delivered on “FOR Destination” basis at NTPC Power Stations, according to the tender IFB NO: CS-0000-010(1)-9 dated 25.04.2011.

Total quantity of 4 MMT (+/- 2%) of imported coal should be delivered in a continuous 8 (Eight) months period starting from March 2012.

Bid documents will be available from April 27 to May 26, according to the company’s website.

Bidders are request to offer price based on On “FOR Destination” basis at NTPC Power Stations inclusive of all port charges and arrange delivery of such Coal to NTPC site by wagons (all activities of stevedoring, handling, arranging railway rakes, loading, transportation etc are in supplier’s scope), the tender terms said.

According to the tender issued on 25th April 2011, the quality of coal should be Gross Calorific Value (adb) 6300 Kcal/Kg basis and will be rejected if GCV is below 5800 kcal/kg. Total Moisture (arb) 16 pct basis and above 20 pct will be rejected. The Ash content (adb) 20 pct max , Sulphur (ADB) 0.9 pct max and Volatile Matter (adb) 30 to 50 pct and above 50 pct will be rejected.
